Three months on top of the world

I started a staring contest with your heart,
My hazel eyes, glazed over with love.
I haven't won this time, sugar.
But summer hasn't even begun.

When the nights become longer,
I'll let you know, baby.
What's behind this emotion,
and what it means to be me.

I'll tell you stories under the stars,
and tell you all you want to hear.
And when the winter draws near,
In the distance, I'll disappear.

All the cliché's honey,
They don't mean a thing.
There's no need for regrets at all.
Because at that very moment,
Everything was what you wanted.
When we kissed for the first time.

As I serenade you,
You give me a smile,
and as butterflies flutter inside me.
Time stood still.
