As the seconds gave out to the clock,
The buzzer sounded.
Five seasons, blood, sweat and tears.
A moment suspended in time, I stood speechless.
Arms raised as the winner they made me out to be,
You really couldn't ask for more.
The hardcourt reflected a silhouette of blurred colour,
Much like the memories from seasons past.
It's an unsettleing thought,
Knowing it's all over for me, tonight.
Every basket, every trey, every play,
History.
Team mates, friendships, memories,
History.
I'll never forget what it's made me.
The blue and yellow colours,
are intertwined as blood.
For a basketball heart,
Bounces more than it beats.
